October has arrived and that means that Wool Month is here. Along with the Campaign for Wool, the International Wool Textile Organisation is dedicating this month to celebrating the beautiful, sustainable, natural fibre we are so passionate about. To celebrate Wool Month, the Campaign for Wool, which is also celebrating 15 years since it was launched by its patron, His Majesty King Charles III, will be spotlighting all the reasons why choosing wool is not just a fashion choice, but is also a vote of support for the planet.

Campaign for Wool’s Plans for Wool Month

Campaign for Wool invites all role players in the wool industry to share their dual focus this Wool Month. First, the Campaign calls on the whole wool community to choose wool over other options, particularly over synthetic, unsustainable fibres. Then, there’s a special focus on conscious consuming: to buy more consciously and make absolutely sure that the products we choose are made from genuine wool. This dual focus is summed up in the Campaign’s two hashtags, #CheckItsWool and #ChooseWool.

Choose Wool and Check It’s Wool

Every wool coat, jumper, throw, product, or accessory is more than just a provider of warmth, comfort, luxury and style. It’s a small decision that can have a real impact on the planet. Throughout October, Campaign for Wool will be sharing inspiring stories and practical tips, as well as spotlighting wool across the value chain, from farm to retail.

👉 Get Involved: This Wool Month, be sure to Check It’s Wool and to Choose Wool with intention. Just one post, share or conversation about wool’s sustainable benefits can help shift demand and grow awareness!

Why We Need to Promote Wool

Initiatives like Wool Month are vital for the wool industry’s growth. Despite the fact that human beings have been using wool for thousands of years, and its many benefits have long been well known, our favourite fibre makes up less than one percent of global fibre production. Even today, despite the growth of the green movement and the increasing demand for sustainable products, synthetic fibres still dominate the textile industry. By promoting wool, the IWTO, Campaign for Wool, and our friends and partners are making an ongoing case for our planet. We invite everyone of like minds to join us in celebrating Wool Month.

Every October, Campaign for Wool equips wool entrepreneurs with the tools to share wool’s magic with their clients. Their point-of-sale kits are now available to order. They include high-quality, science-based resources designed to spark curiosity and highlight wool’s many strengths.
