Discover Norway’s Wool Industry
Norway’s wool clip runs to approximately 3,300 tons. More than 12,800 private, small-scale family farms grow this wool with 880,000 ewes and lambs. The most common breeds are the Norwegian White and the Norwegian Short Tail. Mean fibre diameter is ~32 micon.
Used in apparel, hand-kniting yarns, throws and blankets, upholstery and carpets, Norweigan wool is a strong, resilient, and versatile fibre.
