60 Years of Sportscraft and WoolmarkSportscraft, an iconic Australian clothing brand, has been working closely with Woolmark for 60 years. The partnership began in 1964, and now the fashion brand and the world’s global authority and wool have decided to mark the occasion with a special collection built for the Australian lifestyle. International Wool Textile Organisation (IWTO) is closely connected to both brands, and is looking forward to celebrating with them.

A 60-Year Legacy of Australian Merino Wool

Sportscraft says that its latest collection is inspired by the “unmistakable Australian spirt of quality workmanship in celebration of the 60-year anniversary with Woolmark.” The collection offers an update to winter styling, with versatile garments in camel tones, serene grey and vivid red. It includes roll neck sweaters and cardigans, 100% Merino wool jackets for men and women, and a lush Melton coat, among a range of other winter staples and all-rounders.

A Built-For-Life Mentality

Each garment has been designed to last for life, and to transcend seasons and become wardrobe staples year after year. Every one of them is made from quality Merino wool, and “embodies a seamless fusion of timeless appeal and contemporary versatility.”

Elisha Hopkinson, CEO of Sportscraft parent company APG & Co., said: “Our valued partnership with Woolmark has fostered a mutual inspiration that has spanned 60 years of our own 110 year legacy. Even as our brand continues to evolve, and fashion naturally shifts, our relationship with Woolmark stands the test of time to create quality Australian fashion made to love for years to come.”

For their part, Woolmark is pleased to see the brand and its ongoing support for the wool industry, continue into the future. As CEO John Roberts said: ““We are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Sportscraft, marking 60 years of craftsmanship connected by Australian Merino wool. Our commitment to celebrating timeless quality makes this collaboration a natural choice, taking Australian Merino wool confidently into the future as a steadfast and enduring symbol of excellence.”

Sportscraft was the first Australian brand to become a Woolmark licensee. It is heartening to see that this long-standing relationship is still going strong 60 years on, demonstrating the commitment of both parties to crafting fine clothing staples with a distinctive Australian style, as well as their endless dedication to act as ambassadors for the Merino wool industry, and promote the benefits of this beautiful, versatile natural fibre.

The new Sportscraft collection is now available in-store and online.
